DOOMSAYER OF DOOM DOOMA EARNS SAINYA SEVA MEDAL – SERVICE AWARD WITHOUT SERVICE WEAPON

DOOMSAYER OF DOOM DOOMA EARNS SAINYA SEVA MEDAL –  SERVICE AWARD WITHOUT SERVICE WEAPON

SAINYA SEVA MEDAL

Government of India awards Sainya Seva  Medal to Service Personnel serving in Indian Armed Forces in recognition of 'non-operational' services under conditions of special hardship and severe climate. The bar or clasp shows the words " NEFA " in Hindi. To qualify for this award, an aggregate of one- year service in the North-East Frontier Agency (NEFA) is required. The Medal shows an image of Nanda Devi Himalayan mountain peak with a bamboo stand in the foreground.

I am proud of my military service in North East Frontier Agency (renamed 'ARUNACHAL PRADESH) for several reasons. These are,

1. In 1962, Communist China's War of  Aggression across Himalayan Frontier motivated me to Resist, to Oppose and to Fight against Red China's military threat posed from Occupied Tibet. 54 Years after the 1962 War, India is unwilling to part with her territory. India lost control of her territory in the LADAKH region as TIBET still remains under Chinese occupation.

2.Fortunately, in the North-East Himalayan Sector, India retains control over territory which we initially lost in the 1962 War. In 1972, I was very glad to serve in this area for one complete year and I could personally witness the fact that India is fully prepared to fight against Red China one more time. We are willing to do our best to keep 'NEFA' (ARUNACHAL PRADESH) under our control whatever may be the Chinese threats protests, and claims to territory she calls "Southern Tibet." China, apart from illegal military occupation of Tibet, claims Indian territory publishing maps showing international borders. In recent years, China refused to issue visa to an Officer of the Indian Administrative Service who had earlier served in this region.

3.The tensions still exist and I am glad for we are better prepared now and if war is inevitable, we would welcome that challenge. To serve in NEFA, I was stationed at Doom Dooma, Assam. When I first arrived in Doom Dooma to join my Unit, the first thing that I was told by my Unit Adjutant was , " Rudra, if you need a copy of your most recent photo, ask the Chinese Intelligence, and they could provide you one ". The Chinese Intelligence operatives or spies  keep tabs on each Officer who is entering this area while keeping close watch on our movements.

4.We are neither threatened nor intimidated by this kind of Chinese surveillance. We want to assure China that we will not be deterred by their superior Intelligence capabilities.

5.I arrived in Doom Dooma without my Service Weapon issued by Indian Army as I am expected to participate in operations not known to Indian Army. My Unit in Doom Dooma is fully armed and equipped by the United States. While I arrived in Doom Dooma, US President Richard M. Nixon arrived in Peking seeking Communist Party Chairman Mao Zedong's hand in friendship. I was not amused. I had no choice, no alternative for providing Military Service using Weapon for my personal protection. At Doom Dooma, I am predestined to oppose Red China without access to Service Weapon. I moved around in NEFA performing military tasks sanctioned by my Unit without carrying any Military Weapon.

INDIAN ARMY'S COMMITMENT TO ITS MEN :

In Indian Army, we take pride in looking after our men and very often we stretch ourselves to do our best to safeguard the welfare of our men even under the most difficult circumstances. And we maintain this attitude while extending help to others who may not be members of our Service. I remember my visit to a Forward Company location when a Sub-Inspector of Police came to me asking for medical attention. He belonged to the Central Reserve Protection Force and was dispatched to this difficult area without any prior health screening. I will not be surprised if the same thing is happening today. We deploy police personnel to work in remote areas and we do not care and value their services. This Police Officer was not medically fit to serve in this area and no attempt was made to ascertain his physical fitness to perform the task for which he was sent . Fortunately, he survived the long trek and very difficult and physically challenging climb to reach the Government Clinic where I was voluntarily providing services to all civilians residing in that area. I examined him and found his blood pressure to be very high and he was at a great risk of suffering from a stroke which could be fatal or cause paralysis. He had undiagnosed high blood pressure for a long time and I could also find evidence that his kidneys were already damaged. He needed immediate hospital treatment and required emergency evacuation. His Police Department never cared to inquire about his well-being before giving him the posting order. Where as in the Armed Forces, we routinely interview the men and get them medically examined before they are sent to difficult areas. I prepared a note about his medical condition and the Signal Company Operators immediately dispatched this message. Within minutes, my request for Emergency Medical Evacuation was approved. Doom Dooma Air Force Station was asked to send a helicopter. After a short while, I received a call from the helicopter pilot who spoke to me on his radio and informed me that he was sitting in his helicopter and was ready to take off as soon as the weather permits. That was a particularly, rainy and cloudy day with very poor visibility and the mission was really challenging. The pilot had assured me that he would fly in spite of all odds and would pick up my patient. The control tower was closely monitoring the clouds and they were waiting for a window of opportunity to make this trip while the cloud system moves through the mountain valley. He had asked me to keep the patient ready at the helipad and that he would not be able to spend even an extra minute on the ground. Instantly, the whole scenario at my Company location got transformed. The day started on a very dull note. It was raining and there was dense fog. Suddenly, everybody got busy. As per standing orders, armed men were sent to secure our landing strip, weather signs were posted, helipad was marked with fresh paint. Equipment for Fire-Fighting and Smoke Signaling  were positioned on the ground. We erected a small shelter for the patient to rest while awaiting evacuation. A Sub-Inspector of Police suddenly became the focus of attention literally transforming him into a 'VIP' or Very Important Person. He was worried about his senior officers who had transferred him to this station. He was concerned that he might offend them by leaving his duty station without their prior permission. I reassured him and told him that Indian Army would accept total responsibility for sending him to hospital and that we value him and care for his well-being and that we would not expect any person to perform duty when their personal health is at risk. The pilot made the bold trip as promised and safely transported him to a Service Hospital at Air Force Station, Jorhat. The Sub-Inspector of Police told me that he would never forget this particular day of his life on which he could directly experience the sense of urgency with which we acted and treated him as if he is the most precious thing on earth.

I love this Sainya Seva Medal, the Service Award I earned at Doom Dooma without using Service Weapon. I love Doom Dooma for the opportunity it gave to me to demonstrate my commitment to serve the men who serve our country without any concern for my personal safety.

On August 30, 2017 Bloomberg reported,

"United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on Israel to stop settlement construction in the West Bank.... We believe that settlement activity is illegal under international law."

Why has United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres never made similar statements about Tibet?

Tibetan students in New Delhi demonstrate at UN Information Center (photo: R.T.Y Rohini)

In his 5-point peace plan, the Dalai Lama called to stop Chinese colonization of Tibet.

"When the newly formed People's Republic of China invaded Tibet in 1949/50, it created a new source of conflict.  This was highlighted when, following the Tibetan national uprising against the Chinese and my flight to India in 1959, tensions between China and India escalated into the border war in 1962.  Today large numbers of troops are again massed on both sides of the Himalayan border and tension is once more dangerously high.

"The real issue, of course, is not the Indo-Tibetan border demarcation.  It is China's illegal occupation of Tibet, which has given it direct access to the Indian sub-continent.  The Chinese authorities have attempted to confuse the issue by claiming that Tibet has always been a part of China.  This is untrue.  Tibet was a fully independent state when the People's Liberation Army invaded the country in 1949/50.

"Since Tibetan emperors unified Tibet, over a thousand years ago, our country was able to maintain its independence until the middle of this century.  At times Tibet extended its influence over neighboring countries and peoples and, in other periods, came itself under the influence of powerful foreign rulers - the Mongol Khans, the Gorkhas of Nepal, the Manchu Emperors and the British in India.

"It is, of course, not uncommon for states to be subjected to foreign influence or interference.  Although so-called satellite relationships are perhaps the clearest examples of this, most major powers exert influence over less powerful allies or neighbours.  As the most authoritative legal studies have shown, in Tibet's case, the country's occasional subjection to foreign influence never entailed a loss of independence.  And there can be no doubt that when Peking's communist armies entered Tibet, Tibet was in all respects an independent state...

"Human rights violations in Tibet are among the most serious in the world.  Discrimination is practiced in Tibet under a policy of 'apartheid' which the Chinese call 'segregation and assimilation'.  Tibetans are, at best, second class citizens in their own country.  Deprived of all basic democratic rights and freedoms, they exist under a colonial administration in which all real power is wielded by Chinese officials of the Communist Party and the army.

"Although the Chinese government allows Tibetans to rebuild some Buddhist monasteries and to worship in them, it still forbids serious study and teaching of religion.  Only a small number of people, approved by the Communist Party, are permitted to join the monasteries.

"While Tibetans in exile exercise their democratic rights under a constitution promulgated by me in 1963, thousands of our countrymen suffer in prisons and labor camps in Tibet for their religious or political convictions...

"The massive transfer of Chinese civilians into Tibet in violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention (1949), threatens the very existence of the Tibetans as a distinct people.  In the eastern parts of our country, the Chinese now greatly outnumber Tibetans.  In the Amdo province, for example, where I was born, there are, according to the Chinese statistics, 2.5 million Chinese and only 750,000 Tibetans.  Even in the so-called Tibet Autonomous Region (i.e., central and western Tibet), Chinese government sources now confirm that Chinese outnumber Tibetans.

"The Chinese population transfer policy is not new.  It has been systematically applied to other areas before.  Earlier in this century, the Manchus were a distinct race with their own culture and traditions.  Today only two to three million Manchurians are left in Manchuria, where 75 million Chinese have settled.  In Eastern Turkestan, which the Chinese now call Sinkiang, the Chinese population has grown from 200,000 in 1949 to 7 million, more than half of the total population of 13 million.  In the wake of the Chinese colonization of Inner Mongolia, Chinese number 8.5 million, Mongols 2.5 million.

"Today, in the whole of Tibet 7.5 million Chinese settlers have already been sent, outnumbering the Tibetan population of 6 million.  In central and western Tibet, now referred to by the Chinese as the "Tibet Autonomous Region", Chinese sources admit the 1.9 million Tibetans already constitute a minority of the region's population.  These numbers do not take the estimated 300,000-500,000 troops in Tibet into account - 250,000 of them in so-called Tibet Autonomous Region.

"For the Tibetans to survive as a people, it is imperative that the population transfer is stopped and Chinese settlers return to China.  Otherwise, Tibetans will soon be no more than a tourist attraction and relic of a noble past. "

Why has United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres never complained about Chinese settlements in Tibet as he complains against Jewish settlements?

In a better analogy of the Arab-Israeli conflict, Israel plays the role of Tibet, the dozens of Arab countries that surround it are like China. The Palestinian Arabs serve as the spearhead of the dozens of Arab Nations that are trying to engulf the world’s only Jewish State (smaller than New Jersey) the same way gigantic China is trying to absorb Tibet.

Since United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is not planning to go to the Tibet to condemn the Chinese presence there as illegal, he should not come to Israel to call for the ethnic cleansing of Jews from Judea and Samaria.

On August 31, 2017 I remind my readers about 'Unfinished Vietnam War' that illustrates Nixon-Kissinger Vietnam Treason. Nixon-Kissinger began reducing the number of American troops in Vietnam without obtaining guarantees that the North Vietnamese troops would be withdrawn from the South. The Cold War in Asia began with the Communist takeover of mainland China in 1949. Vietnam War is mere symptom of spread of Communism in Asia. This threat is yet to be neutralized.

AUGUST 31, 1972 - THIS DAY IN HISTORY - US WEEKLY CASUALTY FIGURES HIT NEW LOW

Clipped from: http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/u-s-weekly-casualty-figures-hit-new-low?

U.S. weekly casualty figures of five dead and three wounded are the lowest recorded since record keeping began in January 1965. These numbers reflected the fact that there were less than 40,000 American troops left in South Vietnam by this time and very few of these were involved in actual combat. U.S. troop withdrawals had begun in the fall of 1969 following President Richard Nixon’s announcement at the Midway conference on June 8, 1972, that he would begin reducing the number of American troops in Vietnam as the war was turned over to the South Vietnamese as part of his “Vietnamization” policy. Once the troop withdrawals began, they continued on a fairly regular basis, steadily reducing the troop level from the 1969 high of 543,400.

HUGE 2.7-MILE LONG ASTEROID SET FOR EARTH FLYBY

Clipped from: http://start.att.net/news/read/article/fox_news-huge_27mile_long_asteroid_set_for_earth_flyby-rfoxnews

A massive 2.7-mile long asteroid is set to pass by Earth Friday. There’s no need to worry, though - the asteroid, dubbed Florence, will pass at a safe distance of 4.4 million miles, roughly 18 times the distance between Earth and the Moon.

“While many known asteroids have passed by closer to Earth than Florence will on September 1, all of those were estimated to be smaller,” said Paul Chodas, manager of NASA’s Center for Near-Earth Object Studies (CNEOS) at the agency's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif. in a statement. “Florence is the largest asteroid to pass by our planet this close since the NASA program to detect and track near-Earth asteroids began.”

The asteroid, which is named in honor of Florence Nightingale, was discovered in 1981. Friday’s flyby will be Earth’s closest encounter with the asteroid since 1890, and the closest it will be to our planet until after 2500.

EARTH COULD BE HIT BY SURPRISE ASTEROID STRIKE, EXPERT WARNS

Florence has been assigned an asteroid catalog number of 3122.

While ground-based radar will closely observe the giant space rock, NASA says that the asteroid will also be visible to small telescopes. Sky & Telescope reports that Florence reaches peak brightness late on Thursday and early on Friday, it will remain bright for several days. 8 p.m. EDT on Saturday Sept. 2 will be a particularly good time to view the asteroid, it says.

Earlier this year, a skyscraper-sized asteroid named (441987) 2010 NY65 flew past Earth at about eight times the distance between Earth and the moon.

ASTEROID THAT KILLED DINOSAURS MAY HAVE DARKENED EARTH FOR TWO YEARS

Last year NASA opened a new office to track asteroids and comets that come too close to Earth. The Planetary Defense Coordination Office (PDCO) formalizes the agency’s existing program for detecting and tracking near-Earth Objects, known as NEOs. The office is located within NASA’s Planetary Science Division, which is in the agency's Science Mission Directorate in Washington and works with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and other federal agencies and departments.

NASA has been working on planetary defense for some time – its Near-Earth Object Observations Program already works with astronomers and scientists around the world to look for asteroids that could harm Earth.

LOVE COUNTERACTS VIOLATION OF NATURAL FREEDOM IN TIBET

LOVE COUNTERACTS VIOLATION OF NATURAL FREEDOM IN TIBET

LOVE COUNTERACTS VIOLATION OF NATURAL FREEDOM IN TIBET

Natural Science such as Physics and Chemistry describe Four Fundamental Forces and Four Fundamental Interactions. These are, 1. The Strong Nuclear Force, 2. The Weak Nuclear Force, 3. Electromagnetism, and 4. Gravitation.

I describe 'LOVE' as Fifth Fundamental Force to account for existence of Life on planet Earth. Love acts as Force of Compassion to sustain Life. Love also acts as Force to counteract violation of Natural Order, Natural Balance, Natural Equilibrium, and Natural Freedom.

Biology describes Biotic Interactions as Intraspecific, and Interspecific Interactions. The characteristics of Biotic Interactions are described using terms such as Mutualism, Symbiosis, Commensalism, and Parasitism. All these Biotic Interactions depend upon performing actions that are guided, sequential, purposeful, and goal-oriented.

People's Republic of China or Red China is governed by political doctrine called Communism which provides rule or governance by a One-Party political structure which lays emphasis on the requirements of State rather than on Individual Liberties. Communist State plans and controls all aspects of economy apart from social, cultural, and religious aspects of all Individual State Subjects. Communist State sponsors Violence to establish tyranny or totalitarian regime. Communist Policy or Doctrine demands use of power or authority by Party and State to oppose Natural Rights and Natural Freedom entitled to citizens.

Red China, in pursuit of its State Policy of Military Expansionism, made an unprovoked attack on Tibet in 1950. Red China uses her Military Power or Force to threaten, to harm, to cause pain, to give misery, to bring misfortune, and to create trouble in the lives of Tibetans to force them live under State-sponsored Occupation, Repression, Suppression, and Subjugation.

Natural History of Tibet reveals that Nature uplifted Tibet using massive force of Collision generated by Indian landmass northwards thrust into Asian Continent. This Natural Event created Natural Condition that sustains Natural Freedom experienced by denizens of Tibet. Red China's military occupation of Tibet fundamentally opposes Nature's Plan for Tibet.

Red China violated Natural Order that shapes Tibetan Existence. In my analysis, Love acting as Fundamental Force will counteract Red China's Violation by using Force/Power/Energy that has been shaping and conditioning planet Earth over billions of years of its existence.

PINK HEARTS CAN'T CONCEAL REPRESSION IN TIBET PROPAGANDA - HUMAN RIGHTS WATCH

Clipped from: https://www.hrw.org/news/2017/06/13/pink-hearts-cant-conceal-repression-tibet-propaganda

New Campaign Aimed at Increasing Loyalty to Party, China

To many people’s ears the phrase “Four Loves” probably invokes images of a pop music act or a self-help philosophy – not an authoritarian regime’s latest campaign for political loyalty. But the Chinese Communist Party is once again deploying gentle terms to conceal its suppression of human rights.

A photo showing children from primary schools in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, “speaking [their] hearts to Grandpa [President] Xi" as part of the “Four Emphases and Four Loves” campaign.

© vtibet

Tibet, a region known for systemic, state-sponsored human rights violations, is now awash with posters celebrating the “Four Emphases and Four Loves.” The campaign requires people to “Love the core by emphasizing the Party’s kindness/Love the motherland by emphasizing unity/Love your home by emphasizing what you can contribute/Love your life by emphasizing knowledge.”

Translation: don’t criticize policies or officials and do show gratitude and loyalty to “the core” – the CCP and its leader Xi Jinping. The only way to “love the motherland” is to oppose anything that threatens “unity,” which certainly includes substantive criticism of the Party or the state or any discussion of independence or increased autonomy. And to be a “good citizen” is to focus one’s efforts on what you can “contribute” – but implicitly it’s up to the Party to decide what can or cannot be contributed.

It’s also never too early to start indoctrinating people in this mindset: photos from primary schools in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, show children “speaking [their] hearts to Grandpa [President] Xi.” One is captioned, “The words of the heart spelled out in…small notes.”

Campaigns for Tibetans’ hearts and minds seem almost tragic against the backdrop of repression there. In recent years authorities have reshaped the region’s economy in a manner that suits the central government and effectively excludes Tibetans from decision-making – and in the case of some nomadic communities leaves them demonstrably worse off.

Authorities remain suspicious of Tibetans’ loyalties, and have also radically expanded the security and surveillance apparatus, and methodically inserted state control into all aspects of religious practice. Meanwhile, Tibetans – and many others across China – have virtually no ability to help develop, change, or object to the policies that profoundly affect their lives.

Propaganda – no matter how treacly, and no matter how many pink hearts deployed – is unlikely to generate the kind of loyalty or respect Chinese authorities seem to want from Tibetans. Respect for Tibetans’ human rights, on the other hand, might go a long way towards that goal.

China's Eulogy Whitewashes Past Oppression

Addressing its abusive past has never been a strength for the Chinese Communist Party, particularly in hotspots like Tibet. If anything, the party has become increasingly strident in defending its record in that region. In 2009, for instance, authorities decided to make March 28, the anniversary of the introduction of "democratic reform" after the flight of the Dalai Lama in 1959, an annual holiday to celebrate "serf liberation." Perhaps it's this mindset that explains a recent article noting the June death of Tibet's former political commissar, Ren Rong.

A lifelong soldier, veteran of the 1934-35 Long March and of the anti-Japanese, and Korean wars, Rong became political commissar of the Tibet Military District in 1967. Under Chairman Mao Zedong, he ascended during the Cultural Revolution, one of the bloodiest periods of Communist rule, as a broker between the People's Liberation Army and rival political factions. He would therefore have helped oversee the suppression of the 1969 uprisings across the Tibet Autonomous Region and the imposition of martial law in 1970. Over the course of that campaign, authorities publicly executed hundreds of people, while many thousands were imprisoned or publicly humiliated with "counter-revolutionary hats." He became the region's party secretary in 1971.

Yet Rong's and others' rule was so heavy-handed it prompted a rare public apology by the party's general secretary, Hu Yaobang, during a 1980 visit to the Tibetan capital, Lhasa. Hu – thought of as a reformer – promised change, especially the withdrawal of more than half the Chinese Party members and government staff, and removed Rong from office. Yet the party never acknowledged Hu's initiative, which was later emphatically reversed – to the extent that now even Rong appears to be back in favor.

His eulogy, written in the name of Ragdi, one of his protégés, lauds his, "sweat, determination and…glorious deeds."  It concludes with no apparent irony that the, "masses of all nationalities in Tibet can never forget him." The decision to honor a strongman associated with one of the darkest chapters of Maoist rule suggests an ever-bolder approach by the Communist Party under President Xi Jinping to whitewash history, the history that fuels unrest in Tibet to this day.
